The Pennsy Trails of Hancock County cosponsors an annual bike ride with the National Road Heritage Trail (NRHT.org). The ride in Hancock County is always on the last Saturday of July in association with the Pennsy Art Fair, sponsored by the Mental Health Partners in Hancock County. Riders from several counties along the Pennsy come to this event. This year we had riders from Marion, Co, Henry Co, Hancock Co, and Putman Co.

The ride starts at 9am at 159 South State St & Pennsy Trail, Greenfield, IN 46140-2331. The ride goes to 150W to 400E and back for a total of 11 miles. This year we included the new Brandywine Trail just west of Morristown Pike. This extra 2 mile loop follows Brandywine Creek to Brandywine Park and back. The level of skill is varied and the ride is enjoyed by all skill levels.

The riders then enjoyed the Pennsy Arts Fair with live music, dance groups, food, and many art vendors. The fair is located just next to the Pennsy from 9am – 5pm on the Courthouse Plaza and on American Legion Place, downtown Greenfield Indiana.

Next year we hope to add the newest connection to the Pennsy in Hancock County. A trail will link the Pennsy to Beckenholdt Park on Fortville Pike and will be completed and ready for riding soon.
